DR Pure-Blues Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings Medium 10-46star rating 2NCTJanuary 7, 2012Final decision: These strings have about a 12 hr playing time and then the intonation goes bad. I don't play hard and I don't have problems with the other brands. During the short lifespan they do sound good, so if you use them for a gig and change often they might be OK. After three not- so-good packages I wrote to the company but did not get any response. So it's goodby DR. It's D'addario for me!
DR Pure-Blues Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings Medium 10-46star rating 3NCTOctober 12, 2011These are nice sounding strings with a smooth and silky feel due to the low tension, however, I installed a set on a G&L ASAT with slotted tuners and ruined them. I bent the string over to crimp the winding as recommended because of the round core before installing, but I guess the crimp wasn't tight enough! The manufacturer does crimp them somewhere near the end of the string but I couldn't find it. With slotted tuners you have to cut the string to length before installing. I'll use them in the future, just not on the G&L.
