I realized this when I strung up my guitar using some Martin Marquis strings (that I used to like). "Whoah, why are these strings so tight?!" I thought. As for tone: warm, crisp and even. When they are brand new they sound fantastic, not "too new" if you know what I mean and the tone lasts so long I forget when I changed 'em. I pull on strings pretty hard and I've yet to break one. Mine are on a Gibson J-45 and they snap!
