Thomastik-Infeld Spectrum Bronze Acoustic Guitar Stringsstar rating 5JPMSeptember 19, 2011I hadn't played regularly for years, and I recently decided to dust off the old Martin and pretend I was Neil Young, circa 1972. To experiment a bit, I bought fours sets of strings from four different manufacturers, two of which I once used and liked a lot. I decided to also try a set of the Spectrums, even though they were a bit pricey and I knew nothing about them. They really prove that at times you get exactly what you pay for. I think these strings are worth every penny you'll pay for them. They sound terrific, and, unlike other strings I've used, they stay in tune for an extraordinary length of time, and I found them to be pretty durable. The other three sets I bought sounded so lifeless compared to these that I cut them all off the guitar after a couple of days and ordered more Spectrums. Life's too short, especially at my age, to use inferior sounding strings. These are the best sounding acoustic strings I've ever played (and I've played since 1967).

Thomastik-Infeld Spectrum Bronze Acoustic Guitar Stringsstar rating 5AlJune 14, 2011About me: I have a Martin D-15 and play guitar with 3-5 other people at a time, classic rock type songs. The Thomastik Spectrum string are the mellowest sounding string I have ever heard. An absolutely amazing tone. Normally I use Elixer Nanoweb or D'Addarios, both of which I like, but they are too bright/loud for my taste. The only "problem" with the Thomastiks is they need changing every few months. With the Elixer Nanoweb I can usually get 6 months out of it. BUT I play my guitar much more when the Thomastiks are on it. Thomastik strings sound better than any string I have used.
Thomastik-Infeld Spectrum Bronze Acoustic Guitar Stringsstar rating 3GlennJune 1, 2011When I first put on these strings the I noticed right away how stiff they were to me. I always choose this gauge in other strings and I've never felt this way about any other brand. That doesn't mean they're bad strings, it's just for me they were too stiff. The sound didn't really knock me out, sound is like an D'Addario. I have Martin SP on my guitar which I prefer.
Thomastik-Infeld Spectrum Bronze Acoustic Guitar Stringsstar rating 5PiAugust 25, 2010I put "folk" but I play a variety of styles, including fingerpicking and jazz. I can't play my guitars (Martin Jumbo and Concert) without these strings on em now. Totally worth it, and they last twice as long as other strings.
